Hi there,

my name is Fionna, founder of Peony N’ Pearl - Welcome!

A love of flowers and design have always been with me since I was a young child.
I grew up in Jakarta, in a home with a large garden and fish ponds.
My mum grew a vast collection of tropical flowers, water lilies and fruit trees. For a short period of time she even owned her own “Dancing Lady” Orchid plantation.
I have a very clear memory of hopping from one stepping stone to another underneath the many plantation nets.

My journey in floristry began when I was a year away from finishing a uni degree, which I knew I no longer wanted to pursue.
I loved flowers, so I searched online for a flower course and looked for a florist position without knowing very much about the industry.

I was fortunate to find a consistent florist position a few years later.
Whilst working in a flower shop, I studied CIT cert 3 in floristry where I took advantage of projects and competitions such as the
‘Sydney Royal Easter Show’ and Floriade’s ‘Passion for Fashion’.
I was also active in the Canberra Handmade scene, creating jewellery and silk flower accessories - and regularly appeared at local markets.
I loved my time in the shop, but knew in my heart of hearts that something wasn’t sitting quite right.

I resigned from the shop and created Peony N’ Pearl as a home for my creations that enabled me to connect with clients and offer them my artistic services. I love creating and providing floral services for my clients, but underlying this is my true passion: to look beyond the ordinary and to keep creating the next beautiful inspiration. This is why my business is home-based so I can provide valuable service to all my clients while also maintaining creative focus.
